Pink Post-it Notes

Arron brought me back more soap from a very expensive hotel. Hurrah for hotel soap! I'll have to either start collecting it, or using it!

I like it that she brings me little cheap things! It's awesome.
I didn't work out this morning. I was very tired and very grumpy, and didn't want to. So I didn't. Which is bad, because I had McDonalds for dinner last night, and then a Brownie Earthquake from Dairy Queen. I definitely went to bed with a belly ache. Things still aren't right in my degestive system, so we'll see how this all pans out. I'm starting to wonder if other things aren't afoot.
I finished reading
The Colour of Magic yesterday. I'll review it during lunch. I wasn't overly impressed by it. It was clever, but not laugh out loud hilarious. Maybe I just didn't get all the jokes, and I'm hoping that the series will improve.
I'm not sure what I am going to read next...
We had an IYC meeting at church last night. It was pretty good, it seems that the parents and us (the leaders) are pretty well on the same page. We had a good laugh about some of my rules (which the parents agreed were reasonable - ie. bedtime, buddie groups, etc).
Holy crap! It's June 1! I've got stuff to do!
The Colour of Magic
Posted by Kait at 11:23 AM on June 1, 2006 in Book Reviews.
The
Colour of Magic is about a wizard, well, kind of a wizard, and the tourist he is in charge of, Twoflower and his Luggage.
Ricewind (the wizard) is not a full wizard as he got kicked out of the Unseen University for learning a Spell that should not be Spoken. It takes up all the spell space in his brain, and thus he couldn't learn any more. But he still styles himself a wizard.
Twoflower is an Inn-Sewer-Ants (insurance) agent from another country/area of the Discworld (which is, in fact, a disk that rides on four elephants backs, which rides on a very large turtle, and there is an edge of the world to fall off of), who is travelling with his Luggage, made out of sapient pear wood, and has hundreds of little legs. The Luggage also has many teeth, a tongue and much gold. It will follow Twoflower where ever it goes!
Although I didn't find it nearly as laugh-out-loud funny as I had thought it was, Pratchett did a very clever job of hiding his dry, English humour throughout the book. He kept it light by introducing characters such as Fate, Death, dragons that only exist if you believe in them, Hero's that aren't very smart, and people made out of water.
I would recommend this book to anyone. It's a cleaner, more fantastical version of Monty Python. A quick read that will make you chuckle.

2. Stubbed your toe Fark! Followed by hopping around
3. Become frustrated I usually just start yelling at the person closest to me (sorry Rob).
4. Broken something Crap!

Mar mar mar

Not much going on with me these days. I've got a MK appointment tonight - the first one in a few weeks, whoo hoo! I'm going to make some customer calls too, in the next couple of days to book some new faces. I've got to step it up, we're already into nearly a 1/3 of June already! Eeeeek!!!
We watched Pretty In Pink last night. Might I say again, I love Molly Ringwald. She's still pretty, in my opinion.

We had a lot of fun chatting and enjoying the show. We ate all pink snacks, and I have to say, that I paid a heavy price for eating that much watermelon! I can't believe how gassy it makes me. Oops.
Well, I am getting back to work now. Fan-freaking-tastic!!!

O Holy Crap!
Posted by Kait at 11:20 AM on June 13, 2006.
I just lost a very important folder. I am going to go pee myself in anxiety. I have to check with my team members to see if they have it. Crap crap crap!!!
My weekend was pretty good. On Friday I was in a Project Management course, and it was awesome. It was a three day course, and I really learned a lot. That evening we went to see the dessert theatre our youth put on.
Saturday I slept in until noon, and laid in bed for another hour. I then watched TV for three hours, got ready to go out, and we went to the dinner theatre that our youth did. It was the same play, but the casting was slightly different. We had a good time both times. After that, we watched
Kung Fu Hustle, then went home to bed.
Sunday we went to church, then to the neighbourhood barbeque, shopping for books, litter and groceries, then home. Where I watched more TV and did the laundry.
Chapters is having a buy three paperbacks, get one free sale, so if you live in Canada, and love books, I recommend going to buy some! I picked up
Weaveworld by Clive Barker,
Perdido Street Station by China Mellville,
One for the Money by Janet Evanovich, and
the Autumn Castle by Kim Wilkins. I am looking forward to reading all of them, but I've got to get through
Peace by Gene Wolfe first.
Peace is... interesting. Definitely a book that you have to read in chunks. I don't pick it up unless I know that I can sit for an hour and read. It's a stream of conciousness novel, which tells a story, but mostly by thought process. You read a lot about memories and what has happened, and not so much about what is going on in the present, but snippets. It's not too confusing, unless I only get to read for a few minutes at a time. I am reading it because it's the book of the month at SFFWorld.com... and I usually try to keep up with their bookclub books. Again, it's not a bad story, but it's hard to keep up at times.
I'm still reading the Dr. Phil book and the How
to Win Friends and Influence People book. They're just back burner books, where I take a chunk out of them whenever I feel like it. I only read the Dr. Phil book when I'm feeling serious, or like I want to think about myself and my life. Otherwise, it's a waste of time to read it.
Ooh, just found out that one of my team members does have my missing file! Now I don't have to WIG OUT any more!
I bought really cute shoes yesterday. Seriously cute shoes. I went shopping with Nicole, she bought a bathing suit, and I bought shoes. Awesome. We talked a lot and bonded. Over carrot cake. It is excellent as we both have baby brain. We want to join her and her husband on a cruise in November, so we'll have to be saving our money!!!
New Shoes:
Oh Yeah...

Sunday was the start of my very first birthcontrol free day. Whoo hoo!
I am so not looking forward to heavy periods with cramps. Oh well, it's better to be cranky for 7 days of the month, rather than cranky for all the days!

God bless Fernando Pisani, and the whole Oilers team
The game on Saturday is going to be... amazing, I think. I can't wait, too bad I have a skin care class going on at the same time! Oh well, I am quite positive that we will do well. I understand that a few of Carolina's players are injured, so hopefully we will be able to use that to our advantage. I am really pumped about it, and I am wearing my jersy today as well (I wore it yesterday too).
It seems to be raining outside, although I can't see the drops specifically, the next building is all wet, and it actually looks more like snow. But I know that it is not. It smells great in here, the wonderful wet dirt smell.
Our team is going really well, planning for our Organics conference. I'm pretty pumped about it, and I contacted the Rocky Mountain Soap company to see if they would be interested in participating. I really hope so. Which reminds me, I have a lot of follow up work to do! Hmmm...
I loved my project management course the other week, and I'm finding it easy to apply. Which is terriffic. I hate taking courses that leave me no smarter, or more efficient.
I made ginger biscotti the other day. It was so freaking good, I should really put the recipe up on the Sidhe Court forum. *nods* I really should!
I had a stabbing pain in my left breast today. Not in the pectoral muscle, definitely inside of the breast. I also had weird abdomen pains yesterday. I was in the grocery story, and I felt like some one had stabbed a knife into my side, just towards the center of my left hip. Later last night, I felt it on the other side. Weird. I think that my body is most definitely falling apart!
Anyway, I'm going to go make some phone calls. Ciao!
ps. Although I am not a foot ball watcher, I still like to sing the song. Ole Ole Ole Ole!

Funniest Thing

I walked past a large safe in our Finance department, and I thought that the brand name on it said "Chubb Molester". Tee hee hee...

Green and Blacks Mint Chocolate
Posted by Kait at 09:14 PM on June 21, 2006.
Tonight we went to the new Save On Foods (an Overweightea company) by our house. I love new grocery stores because they tend to bring in new items, and because they are usually well stocked and clean. I was not dissapointed. Not only did I find Catus (!!!) in the produce section, I also happened to stumble across Green and Blacks organic, fair trade chocolate.
Now, those of you from
Kelley Armstrong know just how much the people from England rave about this chocolate.
Green and Black's chocolate is
fair trade and
organic, so it is basically guilt free (minus the fat in one bar, and all that good stuff).
I was very excited to see the bars, and so I took a full two minutes to chose what flavour I was going to try. They all seemed so good, but due to my undying love of
After Eight's, I thought that I would try the mint bar (other selections were Hazelnut and Currants, Milk, Dark, Orange and Spice, and Almond).
I was very excited to get it home, and had to wait to partake of it until after all the groceries were unloaded, and the veggies all ready for the week. So it sat very patiently and gloriously on the counter until I was done.
Front of the package
I made sure to look at all of the packaging and savour every part.
Back of the package (sorry this picture is blurry)

You'll notice the white sticker - this is common for imports who do not have French on the package, we end up with a French sticker covering over the English part!
I unwrapped the paper wraping and discovered that the interior was printed on. Also (not pictured), there was a thick piece of card that covered the "bumps" in the chocolate, I assume to prevent them from breaking.
I especially like the gold wrapper, which is sealed to keep in the freshness, by the way. But I couldn't wait to open it! Yay! Chocolate!
I must commend Green and Black's on their beautiful chocolate. It was shiney, but not fake, and the Leaf logo is quite beautiful.
I cut it in half to show you what it looked like inside, and I will note that this is not the crappy After Eight mint that I am used to. Oh no, this is much more like a mint liquere (but not). It is not too sweet, but not bitter either.
I really like how this chocolate sits in my mouth. I can (and probably will) eat the entire bar because it is not too sweet, and it is a very smooth, lovely bar of chocolate. Yum!
Sooo... instead of sitting here talking about it, I am going to eat it.

Some Like it Hot
Posted by Kait at 02:07 PM on June 25, 2006.
It's a bold 25 C out today. *sigh* Which is fine, except that my house is heating up like... a very hot place. Bah.
We're heading out to hang out with Candice and Matt, our friends from Lethbridge. We are going to do some outdoorsy type stuff with them, then possibly meet up with Shawn, Tricia and Josh later (at the Leg grounds, if I have my way). Today, I like outside, so I figure that we should get some sun while I like outside.
I've decided to go to a naturalpath about my allergies, digestive issues, joint pain, etc. Hopefully he will have some good ideas, other than "stay inside".
wErd.

My Goals
Posted by Kait at 09:20 PM on June 27, 2006 in Mary Kay Entries.
This past week or so has been pretty hard on me, with the deadline for Mary Kay creeping up very quickly. I was seriously starting to doubt that I was going to make my wholesale order, but I've sold a few things this week that I am very happy about. I also had my second recruit sign up today! Although I had a crap day of work, ending my day like this has been totally worth it.

Far Less Busy
Posted by Kait at 01:00 PM on June 28, 2006.
After yesterday, today seems much more managable. I had an incredibly CRAPPY day yesterday, with a lot of... fighting and discussion at work. It's just so tiring to have to tell people the same thing over and over and over again. *sigh* I had some stupid meetings this morning, but it looks like I have this afternoon to myself. Yes! Time to get some actual work done! Whoo Hoo!!
I also have challenged myself to hand out 12 facial in a bag's to 12 people today and tomorrow (so... 6 per day, or something like that). I want to be eligable for Gloria's prizes... because it is all about prizes, really! There is this necklace that I have my eye on...
Ooh, I keep forgetting to update my June item sheet. Must get to that.
I'm still reading
War of the Flowers. The war has just begun. It is SUCH a great book! I can't believe how much I love it. I had started my Tad Williams experience with
Tailchaser's Song... this is not a bad book by any means, but it wasn't as interesting as WOTF is. I can't wait to read the Dragonbone Chair set, and the Otherland set. Even though both of those sets are actually 4 huge books each *passes out from intimidation*.
Last night my friend Nicole came over. God love that woman, she's so much fun. We had a warm fuzzy moment, when we were all "I'm so glad I met you" with each other!

A little silly, I guess, but it was nice to have that mutual "I like you" moment. We also played cards, and I won both games, so I felt pretty good about that too (we seem to take turns winning!). We also chatted about our "secret conversations" (we do this because our husbands get together to have male bonding time, including private conversations), which are mostly about getting pregnant, and youth group (she and Curtis are leaders with Rob and I). Oh, and I tried on my grad dress. I am saddened to tell you that I am now heavier then I was in high school.

Yes, I know.

On the Bright Side...
Posted by Kait at 09:49 AM on June 29, 2006.
I am exceptionally dizzy today. In fact, scrollilng my browser down is enough to make me feel a little woozy. But it's all good. I've been closing my eyes and guessing where to stop. Tee hee hee! I can't not be at work, or stop. I only have two days left until the end of the month/quarter/year. I am going out with a bang! I will be a Star Consultant! I WILL BE WEARING RED!!!!
Deanna, what can I do to help you? What kind of encouragement do you need?
Oh my gosh... I'm hopped up on coffee (dizziness started before the coffe did) and an organic energy bar (it is mostly sesame seeds, flax seeds, soy crisps and crushed almonds. Soooo good! Gluten Free, so Carolyn can enjoy it too). This one is Chai flavoured and is Fan-Freaking-Tastic!!! Wow! Energy! Everywhere! Bruhahahahahahaha *falls off chair*
